The short version: Some links on LuggageWiz.com are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site free and the guides updated. Affiliate relationships never change our recommendations. If a bag is bad, we say so. If a cheaper option beats a pricier one, we tell you that too.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a normal product link with a tracking code attached. When you click it, the retailer (Amazon, for example) records that you arrived from LuggageWiz. If you make a purchase within the retailer’s attribution window — usually 24 hours for Amazon — we receive a small commission on the sale.
The price you pay is identical to what you’d pay going directly to the retailer. You never pay more because of an affiliate link on this site. In many cases you pay the same price you’d get searching Google — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
Amazon Associates Disclosure
LuggageWiz.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
This is the disclosure language required verbatim by Amazon’s Associates Operating Agreement. It applies to every Amazon product link on this site.
How Affiliate Links Appear on LuggageWiz
We do not hide affiliate links or label them deceptively. Here is how they appear in our content:
- “View on Amazon” or “Buy on Amazon” buttons inside comparison tables and product reviews — these are affiliate links.
- Product name links that go to Amazon or another retailer — affiliate links.
- Text links within articles that point to a product page — affiliate links where applicable.
Links to other websites, airline policy pages, government sources, and informational resources are not affiliate links and earn us nothing.
Which Affiliate Programs We Use
Currently, LuggageWiz earns affiliate commissions through:
- Amazon Associates (amazon.com) — the primary affiliate program used across all product review and buying guide pages
If we add other affiliate programs in the future, we will update this page to list them. We do not participate in any affiliate program that requires us to favor their products in our rankings.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Content
They don’t — and here’s specifically what that means in practice:
- We do not accept payment from brands to be included in our “best of” lists. No brand can buy a ranking on this site.
- We do not write sponsored posts disguised as independent reviews. If content is ever paid for by a brand, it will be labeled “Sponsored” at the top of the article.
- We do not rank a more expensive bag higher than a cheaper one just because the commission rate is better. If the $40 Amazon Basics option is the right buy for your situation, we say so — even though the commission on a $135 Travelpro is worth more to us.
- We include negative information, known problems, and “who should skip this” sections on every product we review. A product review that never mentions a downside is not a review — it’s an ad.
- Affiliate links are added after the editorial decision to include a product is made, not the other way around.
How We Research and Test Products
LuggageWiz was founded by Sunil Bhatt, who has 10+ years of travel experience testing bags against real airline sizers and verifying specs directly from manufacturer pages.
A core part of our editorial approach is correcting wrong dimensions and weight figures that appear on other luggage guides — because inaccurate specs lead to gate fees.
Our research process includes:
- Checking dimensions and weight against the manufacturer’s official product page, not third-party listings
- Cross-referencing airline personal item and carry-on size policies at the time of publication
- Including hands-on testing notes where the author has personally used a product
- Disclosing clearly when a recommendation is research-based rather than hands-on
For a full explanation of our research and testing standards, see our How We Test page.
Prices and Availability
Prices shown on this site are accurate at the time of publication and are provided as a reference point. Amazon prices change frequently — sometimes daily.
Always check the current price on the product page before making a purchase decision. We are not responsible for price changes that occur after we publish.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 C.F.R. In addition to this page, we display a brief inline disclosure at the top of every article that contains affiliate links. If you ever click a link on LuggageWiz and cannot tell whether it is an affiliate link, please contact us using the details below and we will clarify immediately.
